He was also known as Rowland Roley and lived with Mrs Dorris after his wife's death.
He apperently inherited the business of Saunders and Sons of 237 Hackney Rd.
When he took up with Annie Abrams, they apparently took the surname Rowland although on Lisa Chapman's grandma's birth certificate the father was listed as Rowland Abrams and the mother as Annie Abrams, formerly Abrams! She was told that Eliza Ann had gone into an asylum, however she is listed at home in the 1901 census with Alfred (and Annie the housemaid!).
